Despite the similarity in overall design between the different Reachy models, it’s important to know how to distinguish between them when it comes to use.
There are incompatibilities between the 2019 model and more recent models.
What’s more, Reachy 2019 cannot be remotely operated and is not compatible with the Python SDK.
The easiest way to tell them apart is to look at the back of the robot.
If there are 2 switches on the right (highlighted in red in the photo below), it’s a 2019 model.
If there is only 1 switch on the right (highlighted in red in the photo below), it’s a 2021 model or 2023.
The difference between a Reachy 2021 and a Reachy 2023 is easily identified by Orbita. If Orbita is white (3D printing), it’s a 2021. If Orbita is metal, it’s a 2023.
